Music Dance Relationship - Task 3 (The Relationship Between Lyrics & Movement)

"At the top of the charts is where I'm gonna

In this lyric Catherine of Aragon is portraying her individuality after divorcing from Henry.
The movement done for this lyric which is everyone slowly raising their hand in a fist portrays that she has found a new purpose which the lyric "At the top of the charts" expresses.
Movements correlating to the lyrics is a key feature of jazz technique and is also very important in musical theatre as the purpose is to tell a story and convey a message through song and dance.

"And you can't stop me"

For this lyric Anna of Cleves sings "And you can't stop me' and this movement directly correlates to the lyric as we raise our arm and have our hand facing outwards to represent "stop".

"Too many years lost in history"

For this lyric we raise our arm and move it across, we have two fingers to represent the lyric "too" which goes along with our other movements we did for "one" and "free" where we held one and then three fingers up with the same arm motion.

"I didn't look like my profile picture"

For this lyric we use our hands to show our face, almost to represent a picture frame as Anne of Cleves is singing about her face.
